30-Day Program
The 30-Day Program That Rewires Your Brain for Perfect Putting Speed
Most golfers practice putting wrong. They hit random putts, hope for improvement, and wonder why they still three-putt under pressure. The Speed Machine Training Program uses proven motor learning science to build automatic speed control—the skill that separates professional golfers from everyone else.
Why Your Putting Practice Isn't Working
You've rolled thousands of putts. You've bought the mats, watched the videos, copied the tour pros. Yet when you stand over a 30-footer that matters, you still have no idea if you're going to leave it 6 feet short or blow it 4 feet past.
Here's the uncomfortable truth: random practice creates random results. Your brain can't build reliable motor patterns when every putt is a different distance, a different target, a different speed. It's like trying to learn piano by hitting random keys and hoping your fingers figure it out.
The solution isn't more practice. It's smarter practice—the kind backed by 50 years of motor learning research that is scientifically proven to produce results.
You know you missed, but you don't know by how much. Without precise feedback, your brain can't make the micro-adjustments needed to improve.
Hitting putts to different holes feels productive, but it prevents your brain from building the deep motor patterns that create consistency.
Skills that work in practice vanish under pressure because they were never properly encoded into automatic, unconscious competence.
The Speed Machine Difference
The Speed Machine measures your ball speed in MPH—instantly, accurately, every single putt. Combined with our 30-day progressive training program, you'll build the automatic speed control that makes three-putts a thing of the past.
Know exactly how fast every putt leaves your putter. No guessing, no estimation—just precise data your brain can use to calibrate.
Start with foundational speeds and systematically expand your range. Each day builds on the last, creating lasting neural pathways.
Every session is designed using proven motor learning principles: blocked practice, random practice, contextual interference, and pressure training.
No chasing balls, no breaking rhythm. Putt after putt in a 4-foot space, building the repetition density that accelerates learning.
The Science of Speed Control
The Speed Machine Training Program isn't guesswork. It's built on peer-reviewed research from the world's leading motor learning scientists—the same principles used to train Olympic athletes, surgeons, and elite performers.
Motor learning research shows that the first exposure to a new skill should prioritize exploration over precision. Your brain needs to experience the range of possible outcomes before it can begin calibrating.
How we apply this: Day 1 begins with free exploration—hitting putts at natural speeds to establish your baseline before targeting specific numbers.
Wulf, G., & Shea, C. H. (2002). Principles derived from the study of simple skills do not generalize to complex skill learning. Psychonomic Bulletin & Review.
Blocked practice (repeating the same movement multiple times before switching) is optimal for skill acquisition in early learning stages. While it may feel less 'game-like,' it accelerates the formation of motor programs.
How we apply this: Phase 1 uses blocked practice—repeating the same speed target—to build initial motor programs for each speed.
Shea, J. B., & Morgan, R. L. (1979). Contextual interference effects on the acquisition, retention, and transfer of a motor skill. Journal of Experimental Psychology.
Mixing different skills during practice feels harder but produces dramatically better long-term retention and transfer to new situations.
How we apply this: Later program days deliberately mix speeds and sequences, making practice challenging but building skills that last.
Magill, R. A., & Hall, K. G. (1990). A review of the contextual interference effect in motor skill acquisition. Human Movement Science.
Optimal learning occurs when task difficulty matches the learner's skill level. Too easy creates boredom; too hard creates frustration. The sweet spot accelerates improvement.
How we apply this: The program progressively increases difficulty as your skills develop, keeping you in the optimal learning zone.
Guadagnoli, M. A., & Lee, T. D. (2004). Challenge point: A framework for conceptualizing the effects of various practice conditions in motor learning. Journal of Motor Behavior.
Self-assessment during motor learning enhances metacognition and accelerates skill development. Predicting your result before execution strengthens the connection between intention and outcome.
How we apply this: Predictive practice protocols have you estimate your speed before each putt, then compare to actual—building calibration faster.

Skills transition from working memory to long-term procedural memory during rest periods between practice sessions. Sleep is particularly important for motor skill consolidation.
How we apply this: The program is designed for daily sessions with rest between, allowing your brain to consolidate each day's learning.

“The difference between an amateur and a professional isn't talent—it's the quality of their practice. Deliberate, progressive, feedback-rich practice is the single greatest predictor of expertise.”

The 30-Day Journey
The program takes you from wherever you are now to complete speed control mastery. Three phases, five speed zones, and 30 carefully designed days that build on each other to create permanent skill.
3-10 MPH
Establish basic speed discrimination and zone accuracy
Master the foundational speeds that form the basis of all distance control. Learn to feel the difference between speeds and build your first automatic patterns.
3-16 MPH
Expand range into moderate speeds and introduce random practice
Expand into firm speeds while maintaining touch. Increase practice intensity and begin combining speeds in challenging sequences.
3-20 MPH
Full speed range with competition simulations and pressure protocols
Add power speeds, master the full range under pressure, and lock in automatic performance that holds up when it matters most.
The Five Speed Zones
The program teaches five distinct speed zones, each with specific tolerances that challenge your precision appropriately. By Day 30, you'll own every speed from delicate touch putts to powerful lag putts.
3-7 MPH
Soft, touch putts for short distances. The foundation of feel.
Tolerance: ±0.5 MPH
Inside 10 feet, downhill putts, fast greens
8-10 MPH
Medium-distance putts with moderate force. Where most putts live.
Tolerance: ±0.7 MPH
10-25 foot putts, level lies, medium greens
11-14 MPH
Firm putts for longer distances. Confident speed for uphill situations.
Tolerance: ±1.0 MPH
25-40 foot putts, uphill putts, slow greens
15-18 MPH
Powerful putts for very long distances. Aggressive speed for challenging conditions.
Tolerance: ±1.25 MPH
40+ foot putts, severe uphill, very slow greens
19-20 MPH
Maximum speed putts for extreme distances. Complete range mastery. Use with caution.
Tolerance: ±1.5 MPH
50+ foot putts, double-breakers, extreme conditions
Note: Tolerances are calibrated to challenge you appropriately at each level. Zone 1's tight ±0.5 MPH tolerance builds precision; Zone 5's wider ±1.5 MPH tolerance acknowledges the increased variability inherent in producing larger forces.
Gate Tests
Five Gate Tests throughout the program validate your skills and unlock new speed zones. These aren't arbitrary checkpoints—they're carefully designed assessments that ensure you're ready for the next challenge.
3 putts each at 3, 4, and 5 MPH
Pass: 5/9 putts within zone tolerance (56%)
Unlocks: 6-7 MPH speeds to complete Zone 1
Proves basic speed control competence at touch speeds
4 putts each at 5, 6, and 7 MPH
Pass: 8/12 putts within zone tolerance (67%)
Unlocks: Zone 2 speeds (8-10 MPH)
Validates readiness for moderate speeds
4 putts each at 8, 9, and 10 MPH
Pass: 8/12 putts within zone tolerance (67%)
Unlocks: Zone 3 speeds (11-14 MPH)
Confirms expanding speed vocabulary into firm putts
4 putts each at 10, 12, and 14 MPH
Pass: 8/12 putts within zone tolerance (70%)
Unlocks: Zone 4 speeds (15-18 MPH)
Proves readiness for power speeds
3 putts each at 15, 16, 17, and 18 MPH
Pass: 7/12 putts within zone tolerance (60%)
Unlocks: Zone 5 speeds (19-20 MPH) for full mastery
Validates complete speed control mastery
If you don't pass: If you don't pass a Gate Test, repeat the previous day's training to reinforce weak areas, then retest. This ensures solid foundations before advancing.
What a Training Day Looks Like
Each day is carefully structured to maximize learning in minimal time. Here's what Day 1 looks like:
Establish baseline speed awareness and familiarize yourself with the device feedback system. Today is about exploration, not perfection.
Hit putts at whatever speed feels natural. Note the speed displayed after each putt. Don't try to hit specific numbers yet.
4 MPH
Try to produce putts at exactly 4 MPH. This is a relatively soft putt—think of a short lag putt. After each stroke, note the actual speed, mentally adjust, and execute the next putt with the adjustment.
5 MPH
Repeat the process targeting 5 MPH. This requires slightly more force than 4 MPH. Notice how small the difference feels.
Alternate between 4 MPH and 5 MPH targets. Odd putts = 4 MPH, Even putts = 5 MPH. This 'contrast training' helps your brain distinguish between speeds.
Coach's Note: Day 1 often feels frustrating. Your results may be inconsistent. This is completely normal—it's the brain's exploration phase gathering data. Trust the process.
The Transformation
Golfers who complete the Speed Machine Training Program develop measurable improvements across all aspects of their putting game.
Complete 3-20 MPH command
You'll be able to call any speed from 3-20 MPH and hit it within tolerance. That's 18 distinct speeds you can produce on demand.
Consistent proximity
Long putts that used to leave unpredictable distances will die within tap-in range because you know exactly what speed to hit.
Dramatically increased
Knowing you can control speed removes doubt. You'll stand over putts with certainty instead of hope.
Maintained under stress
Skills built with pressure protocols and competition simulations hold up when the round matters.
More effective
When you trust your speed, you can commit to your line. Better speed makes better reads possible.
Maximized
Every minute of practice builds measurable skill. No more wasted time hitting random putts.
Combine Mode
After you've built your skills, Combine Mode puts them to the test. 18 random speed targets, zone-based tolerances, and a scoring system that rewards precision.
Speeds from 3-20 MPH in random order. No patterns to memorize—just pure skill.
Tighter zones earn more points. Perfect putts in harder zones are worth more.
Track your best rounds and watch your scores climb as your skills improve.
The game format creates natural pressure, building stress-resistant performance.
